The Noelle Quinn era has arrived.
After the women’s basketball team stumbled in the first
half of the regular season, the Bruins (17-13) won seven of their
last eight regular season games, largely due to Quinn’s
overall maturation.
“In the beginning, I was down on myself because I
wasn’t fulfilling those expectations,” the freshman
said. “But it’s how you finish, and I finished
well.”
Recipient of the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year award, Quinn led
the team in scoring and rebounding en route to their first NCAA
Tournament berth in four years.
“As a team we accomplished things no one thought we
could,” Quinn said.
In the Pac-10, Quinn ranked fifth in scoring (16.0) and
rebounding (7.7), fourth in steals (2.23), and ninth in assists
(3.04).
She not only met expectations, she exceeded them.
