WOMEN’S TENNIS: UCLA’s
Daniela Bercek and Lauren
Fisher
her advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA
Doubles Championships with a 6-1, 7-5 win over North
Carolina’s Kendal Cline and Aniela Mozjis on Wednesday.
Bercek and Fisher will face Indiana’s Linda Tran and Sarah
Batty today at 11:30 a.m. in Athens, Ga.

MEN’S TENNIS: In the first round of the
NCAA Singles Championships, Bruin Chris Lam lost
to Southern Methodist’s Johan Brunstrom 6-4, 7-6. Lam was the
only Bruin entered in the singles competition, as Tobias
Clemens
and Luben Pampoulov withdrew. In
the NCAA Doubles Championships, UCLA’s Alberto
Francis
and Kris Kwinta will take on
Texas’ Antonio Ruiz and Jose Zarhi in a first round match at
noon in Tulsa, Okla. Francis and Kwinta are the only Bruins entered
in doubles.

SOFTBALL: Two Bruins picked up All-American
honors Wednesday night. Caitlin Benyi, a sophomore
second baseman, was named a first-team National Fastpitch Coaches
Association Louisville Slugger All-American. Benyi led the Pac-10
in home runs with 22, and enters the Women’s College World
Series with a .395 batting average. Keira Goerl, a
senior pitcher, was named to the second team.
