Meters fixed

UCLA Transportation Director Renee Fortier said meters in Lot 6
that the Daily Bruin reported broken have been fixed.

Meters 0433, 0463, 0479, 0480 and 0482 in Lot 6 were fixed last
week after Transportation was informed the meters shortchanged
people. Some of the meters gave 7 minutes per quarter instead of 8
minutes at certain intervals, and others credited drivers with no
minutes at times.

Drivers can report problems regarding meters by calling a number
posted outside each lot on campus. In an interview last week,
Fortier said parking officials do not ticket cars parked at meters
known by Transportation to be broken.

Compiled from Bruin reports and wire services.
