USC sophomore wide receiver Mike Williams is
reportedly considering entering the NFL draft. Williams would be
the first player to take advantage of the recent Maurice
Clarett court ruling. In that decision, U.S. District
Judge Shira Scheindlin said the NFL draft must be
open to underclassmen. Before, the draft had only been open to
those three years removed from their high school graduation year.
Williams, who has 176 catches for 2,570 yards and 30 touchdowns in
two seasons with the Trojans, has until March 5 to officially
declare for the draft. After the Clarett ruling was initially
handed down, Williams originally said that he would not consider
entering the draft.
