Last Year: Michael Moore; This Year: Mandy Moore

With his best-selling book, “Dude, Where’s My
Country?” and subsequent speaking tour around the globe,
Michael Moore was definitely one of 2003’s movers and
shakers. But being critical of an administration that seems
unbeatable this November feels hopelessly out of date. To whom
shall we turn for a sunnier disposition and a likability factor
with which that you just can’t argue? Squeaky-clean Mandy
Moore is here to save us all this year, both with her bubble-gum
romantic comedy “Chasing Liberty” and upcoming role in
Brian Dannelly’s dark comedy about teen pregnancy,
“Saved.” This Moore may never make a controversial
speech during the Oscar telecast, but we predict this will be a
breakout year for her.
