Mercedes-Benz extends tennis event
sponsorship

Mercedes-Benz USA extended its sponsorship of the Mercedes-Benz
Cup at UCLA for two additional years, through 2005.

This year’s championship will be held from July 28 through
Aug. 3 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

“The Tournament and Tennis Association are delighted to
continue (their) extremely successful relationship with
Mercedes-Benz,” tournament Director Bob Kramer said in a
statement.

Hollins plays well for undefeated team USA

Sophomore basketball center Ryan Hollins continues to play well
in the 7th annual FIBA Junior World Championships in Thessaloniki,
Greece. The U.S. team recently dominated China 109-84, and Hollins
contributed eight points on 3-for-3 shooting from the field and was
2-for-3 from the free throw line. He also snared three rebounds in
his 18 minutes of play. Team USA is currently undefeated.

Bruins star in Greece

Robin Beauregard ““ who finished her final season for UCLA
this past year ““ and sophomore Amber Stachowski, both members
of the U.S. team in the women’s water polo World
Championships, helped lead their team to a 10-7 victory over Greece
on Saturday. Beauregard, renowned as a dominating defensive player,
scored three goals, and Stachowski also scored a goal.
