Six Bruins named All-Americans

Six UCLA women’s water polo players were named
All-Americans by the American Water Polo Coaches Association
Thursday.

Senior Robin Beauregard and junior Natalie Golda were named to
the first team, senior Jaime Hipp was named to the second team, and
seniors Maureen Flanagan, Jessica Lopez and freshman Kelly Rulon
were named to the third team.

This was the fourth such honor for Beauregard. The center
defender led UCLA with 33 assists and 42 steals.

Golda, a center forward, led the team with 50 goals; this marks
the first time she was named a first team All-American.

The Den has been chosen

The UCLA Sports Marketing Association has chosen “The
Den” as the name for the student cheering section. For
football, it will be called Dorrell’s Den, after football
coach Karl Dorrell. For basketball, they’ll be Ben’s
Den, named after basketball coach Ben Howland. And for all other
sports, simply, The Den.

The name was selected at its weekly meeting Wednesday night.
