www.sportspickle.com SportsPickle.com is the
sports equivalent of “The Onion.” The site offers fake
news articles such as “Bengals Take Carson Daly with No. 1
Pick” and “Kiper Jr. Visibly Aroused Throughout NFL
Draft.” It also features a fake quote of the week. This
week’s: “Although I haven’t made the Hall of Fame
as a player yet, I’m kind of thinking that might be my only
shot.” – Alan Trammell, rookie coach of the 3-20 Detroit
Tigers
pBay, a mock sports equivalent of eBay, is also
a part of the site. This week’s main item: “a football
signed by Cincinnati Bengal first-round draft picks from the past
15 years. Opening bid: free with paid shipping.” ???
Ponder This??? is another feature on the site. Example:
“I don’t know if you happened to see Kevin
Millwood’s wife during clips of his no-hitter on Sunday, but
I think Kurt Warner’s wife might have some
competition.” -Gilbert Quiñonez Daily Bruin Senior
