Baseball team set to face No. 2 Fullerton

Weather permitting, the UCLA baseball team (17-22, 3-6) will
take on No. 2 Cal State Fullerton (27-7) at 7 p.m. tonight at
Fullerton. The Bruins hope to snap a six-game losing streak and
improve their 0-7 midweek-game overall record.

UCLA will attempt to erase the memory of last weekend’s
sweep by USC, during which it lost in the bottom of the ninth
Friday and came up short in comeback bids Saturday and Sunday.

The Bruins will be looking for any positive momentum they can
create tonight as they head into another tough Pac-10 series
against No. 7 Arizona State, which starts Thursday in Tempe.

Unlike the Bruins, the Titans have been on a tear of late,
winning 12 of their last 15 games. Offensively, they are led by
junior catcher P.J. Pilittere, who is batting .440, and freshman
outfielder Danny Dorn, who was just named Big West Player of the
Week.

Quartz Hill High School shortstop/pitcher Matt Ware verbally
committed to UCLA earlier this week, according to the Los Angeles
Times.
