Gymnastics heads to NCAA regionals

The No. 1 UCLA gymnastics team will travel to Missouri for the
NCAA regionals, which start Saturday.

The Bruins (19-2-1) were placed in the South Regional with No.
12 Oregon State, No. 13 Iowa, No. 19 Arizona, Illinois-Chicago, and
Missouri, the host school.

The top two teams from the regional will qualify for the NCAA
Championships in Lincoln, Neb., held from April 24 to 26.

Tuesday, three UCLA gymnasts were named to the 2003 All Pac-10
Conference team: freshman Kate Richardson, junior Jeanette Antolin,
and senior Onnie Willis.

Levin returns to men’s golf team

The No. 10 ranked UCLA men’s golf team will head into the
ASU Thunderbird Invitational with a welcomed addition Friday.

Freshman standout Spencer Levin, suspended March 7 for a
violation of team rules, will travel with the team to compete in
the tournament in Tempe, Ariz.

“We’re very excited that Spencer has reevaluated his
priorities and rededicated himself to UCLA and his
teammates,” head coach O.D. Vincent said in a statement.
“We expect nothing but positive things from him for the rest
of the season.”

Levin last competed at the Southwestern Intercollegiates, held
March 3-4.

The Bruins, going for their fifth title of the season, will
start a different looking lineup at the Karsten Golf Course than
the squad that walked away winners earlier in the week at
Pasatiempo.

“We decided to give some of our other players the
opportunity to compete, and rest the guys who went to Santa
Cruz,” Vincent said.

Track travels to Cal-Nevada Championships

The UCLA men’s and women’s track and field teams
will travel to San Diego this weekend to compete in the Cal-Nevada
Championships.

The No. 19 men’s team is the defending champion of the
meet, scoring 204 points last year.

The No. 8 women’s team will be sending a partial squad to
the Cal-Nevada Championships. The team also sent a partial squad to
last year’s meet, and finished sixth with 69 points.
