Students were asked about their on-campus housing concerns.

“On-campus housing is way too expensive, when there are
bigger and cheaper places to live off campus. A lot of
underclassmen live on campus because it’s convenient and a
good experience. They shouldn’t be charging us so much money
to take advantage of this.” Chieh Lu

“It is really cramped living in the dorms right now,
especially in triples where it can be emotionally stressful with
three people in such a tight space. Sometimes you really need to
have some privacy and it is already hard to find that when you are
living in the dorms. Housing needs to find a solution to this
over-crowdedness.” Sandhya Chari

“They need to find a better way of getting rid of rodents,
since there have been a lot of problems with mice in the dorms. It
is really unsanitary, especially when we are paying to live there.
With security, it seems really safe at night but during the day
anyone could get in, and they should think of a way to fix this as
well.” Katie Rivera
Second-year, communication studies and
comparative literature
“Housing is really crowded right now and this is
contributing to some safety issues. There are too many students and
it is hard to control who goes into the buildings. It is really
easy to get access to the buildings. Security is being increased
right now, but they should have thought of this ahead of
time.”
