Bruins nine shots back in Tucson

The UCLA women’s golf team, ranked No. 14 in the country,
is in fifth place after the first round of the Arizona Wildcat
Invitational held at the Arizona National Golf Club.

The team shot a 15-over-par 299, and trails first place Arizona
State by nine shots.

For the Bruins, junior Krystal Shearer shot a season-best
one-over 72 and is tied for sixth place.

Fellow junior Bridget Dwyer also had a season-low round, carding
a three-over 74 for 15th place.

Sophomore Charlotte Mayorkas, the No. 22 golfer in the country,
shot a four-over 75 and is tied for 24th place.
