Predictable film both a foolish frivolity and clever diversion

Watch out, fellas. Threatening to hold its male victims for
hours at a time, the “chick flick” is once again on the
loose. This time, however, even the glamorous Kate Hudson
can’t give level-headed men any reason to see the film.
Despite the obvious prejudice that most men already have against
movies such as this one, “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”
offers little to fight against this chauvinism. Perhaps instead it
helps men justify exactly why bad chick-flicks should never be seen
by anyone, regardless of their sex. Complete with the ridiculously
unrealistic circumstances that the characters end up in, to the
obligatory predictable ending, this film nearly comes with
instructions on how to make a bad movie turn out to be even worse
than initially expected. And for girls who really want to know how
to lose a guy in 10 days? Save time by dragging him to this movie;
he’ll be gone in less than 10 minutes. –CJ
