its play, “Quick Lime,” at the Freud Playhouse Friday
and Saturday, 8 p.m.
Music
“¢bull; Bands Almost Gone, Karoake Outfit, and In Case of Fire
play their brand of punk rock tonight in the Covel Commons Grand
Horizon Room at 8 p.m.
“¢bull; Korean drumming while eating Korean BBQ in the Bruin
Plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
“¢bull; The Los Angeles Philharmonic, under conductor Esa-Pekka
Salonen, will play from John Adams’ latest works on Saturday
at 8 p.m.
“¢bull; The American Youth Symphony will start its season of
free concerts with symphonies by Mozart and Mahler Sunday night at
8 p.m.
Literature
“¢bull; “Fight Club” author Chuck Palahniuk comes to
Ackerman Grand Ballroom at noon to promote his latest novel,
“Lullaby.”
“¢bull; The Hammer features its “Ghost and Horror
Night” for free on Sunday at 5 p.m. with artists and writers
reading, performing and singing their spook stories.
Film
“¢bull; A free screening of “All That Jazz,” a look
at Bob Fosse’s life, plays at the James Bridges Theater
Friday, 7:30 p.m.
“¢bull; “Signs” will be at Ackerman Grand Ballroom
tonight and Friday at 7 and 9:30 p.m. for $2.
“¢bull; The UCLA Archive’s D.W. Griffith/Douglas Sirk film
series continues with Sirk’s “Written on the
Wind” on Friday and “Imitation of Life” on
Saturday. Both free screenings are at the J. Paul Getty Museum and
start at 7:30 p.m.
“¢bull; The UCLA Archive’s Korean cinema series will show
“Turning Gate” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
