Speaks out: Westwood

What is your favorite and least favorite thing about Westwood?
Violette Geogiyesh

Fourth-year, Psychology

“My favorite thing is downtown and least favorite is the
parking. There are a lot of places to hang out–different cafes,
places to get food, the independent movie theater. It’s hard
to find parking so you can make a decision to get boba in the
morning and then have to change your mind because you’re
worried about parking.” Patrick MacDonald

Third-year, Psychology and Italian

“The variety of things to do is my favorite thing. I
don’t like the cost and parking’s really bad. The movie
theaters are too expensive, but I guess they’re expensive
everywhere.” Christine Suk

Second-year, Computer science

“My favorite thing is that I feel like there’s a lot
of energy. I don’t like the parking though. It’s so
limited and hard to find.” Jennifer Pfeifer

Second-year, Psychology

“My favorite thing is the restaurants and the movie
theaters. I like being able to go down there and spend a whole
evening. My least favorite thing is probably the parking. It drives
me crazy.” Jon Biado

Second-year, Undeclared

“My favorite thing is Best Buy and the video game store,
Cosmo Games. My least favorite is that after a while it gets boring
and then you have to find somewhere else to have fun.” Janet
Tomiyoma

Full-time psychology employee

“My favorite thing about Westwood is the restaurants. I
love Damon & Pythias and all the places to walk around. My
least favorite thing is the homeless people who accost you. I was
outside at CPK and a guy refused some bread and wanted me to give
him money so his wife and kids could go to In-N-Out.” K.C.
Clinger

Graduate student, Education

“I hardly spend any time in Westwood. I guess the movie
theaters are on the positive side and on the negative side, I don’t
really have anything.” Speaks out compiled by David
