Computers lost, then found

Between late night July 28 and early morning on July 29, 63
computers were taken from a locked room on the second level of
Ackerman Student Union. On the evening of the July 31 they were
discovered lined up and hidden behind curtains in Ackerman Grand
Ballroom.

University police are investigating the matter as a burglary and
considering optional methods on how the computers could have been
removed, how many individuals were responsible and who had access
to the secured room.

There was no sign of forced entry, yet investigators think the
computers were “relocated in Ackerman but don’t believe
they were misplaced,” said UCPD Detective Leo Del
Rosario.

The computers were for a children’s cyber camp, hosted by
Giant Campus. The eight-week program was uninterrupted by the
incident, said Director Danny Pezzotta.
