CULTURE Tonight and tomorrow night, the
Skirball Cultural Center presents “The Haman/Navas
Project,” a pairing of music and dance with cellist Walter
Haman and dancer/choreographer José Navas. Tickets are $25 for

THEATER “War Letters,” starring Mario
Van Peebles and Treat Williams, is playing at the Canon Theatre in
Beverly Hills. Performances are held Tuesday-Friday at 8 p.m.,
Saturday at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Ticket prices range from $25 to $50. For more information, call

Hollywood presents “Women Speak: If you get to know
me,” a production consisting of provocative and humorous
accounts of women’s experiences. Tickets are $15 and $10 for

FILM “Shorttakes,” the annual
student film festival, will be held in Ackerman Grand Ballroom on
Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Films from student filmmakers will be
presented and winners will be announced after the show. Admission
is free. There will be a showing of “Black Hawk Down”
at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood this coming Monday, Feb. 25 at
7:00 p.m. Following the film will be a discussion with director
Ridley Scott as well as producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Tickets are $10
for general admission, and $9 for students, seniors and

There will be a free screening of “The Laramie Project”
next Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m. in Ackerman Grand Ballroom.
Following the film will be a panel discussion with members of the
cast concerning hate crimes. Tickets are free and can be picked up
at the Campus Events office, Kerckhoff 319.

MUSIC Nikka Costa will be performing at the
Knitting Factory on Friday. Her sound suits itself to a live show
with intense vocals and a rocking backup band as Nikka gyrates
around the stage. She will soon be joining the SnoCore Icicle Ball

Blues plays host to the bands Lawrence Arms, the Alkaline Trio and
The Bouncing Souls this Saturday. More info can be found at (323)

inimitable artist Beck will be bringing his unique blend of musical
stylings to the Knitting Factory this Sunday. For more information,

guitarist Manuel Barrueco along with pianist Pablo Ziegler will
provide a night of Spanish and tango music. Tickets can be
