Six to star in Senior Bowl

Not even three months after his last UCLA game, DeShaun Foster
is having a class reunion.

On Saturday, Foster headlines a group of six UCLA players at the
Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., the country’s most prestigious
all-star game. The game features more UCLA players than any other
school and twice as many players as any other Pac-10 school.

Foster’s fellow invitees are consensus all-American Pac-10
Defensive Player of the Year Robert Thomas, all Pac-10 defensive
end Kenyon Coleman, all Pac-10 tight end Bryan Fletcher, fourth
team All-American and second team all Pac-10 strong safety Marques
Anderson, and honorable mention all Pac-10 defensive tackle Ken
Kocher.

Foster has generated lots of positive attention from scouts and
media over the course of the week. Coleman is also said to be
performing well.

Foster missed the last three games of the UCLA season due to an
extra-benefits NCAA violation. However, he made all Pac-10 and
second-team All-America and is expected to be the top running back
picked in the draft.

He rushed for 1,109 yards in eight games this past season, and
finished his career second on UCLA’s touchdown list with 44,
and third on UCLA’s career rushing list with 3,194 yards.

The only invitee who may not appear in the game is Thomas who
has a sore calf muscle.

The game will be coached by the staffs of the Seattle Seahawks
and the Arizona Cardinals and attended by many NFL scouts. The game
is at 2 p.m. PST, and will be televised on ESPN.

Wide receiver Brian Poli-Dixon will play in the Rotary Gridiron
Classic, also on Saturday. The Classic pits top seniors from the
schools in Florida against players from around the nation. The
game, played at the Florida Citrus Bowl, will be broadcast on ESPN
at 11 a.m. Pacific Time.
