Weekend Warrior

Sophomore Jaime Dantzscher was named Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week
for her performances against Arizona State, Boise State and Cal
State Fullerton. Dantzscher tallied two perfect 10s, both on the
floor exercise, to set the school record for career prefect scores
with 10.

Her crowd-pleasing routine is performed to
“Revolution” from the Tomb Raider Soundtrack. In
addition to her perfect scores, Dantzscher won the all-around in
Sunday’s competition against ASU. Perhaps most importantly,
she had a pair of strong showings on the balance beam, an apparatus
that has plagued her in the past.

Hometown Hero

Sophomore Jaime Williams returns home to Tucson, Ariz. to
compete for the first time as a Bruin. She attended Sabino
High School and was the 1999 State Level 10 beam champion and
1998 floor champion. Last year she earned scholastic All-American
honors.

Everybody Plays

Last week the Bruins competed every single healthy team member.
Freshman Trishna Patel and true freshman Natasha Desai saw their
first regular-season action as Bruins. Sophomores Christy Erickson
and Alyssa Beckerman set new career highs on floor and beam,
respectively.
