Senior judged most fit Ironman

Senior Anna Swanson won the regional Ironman fitness competition
Dec. 1 at Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium in Culver City. With
her victory, the 21 year-old sociology student qualified for the
July 22 national tournament in Las Vegas.

“I was so happy I cried when I won,” Swanson said.
“It was the first time I’ve said I was going to do
something and I did it completely. It was an amazing feeling. It
was very rewarding.”

Swanson will compete in the California State Championship in May
and will work on building up her back and shoulder muscles.

Nine judges scored the competition; Swanson won both preliminary
events and the final showcase.

“Her performance was excellent,” trainer Allen
Grimes said. “She easily won the show. Her excellent effort
and hard work really paid off. She is ready for a national level
show.”
