Film An uncut DVD bootleg of “Almost
Famous” will show at 7:00 p.m. tonight at the Westwood
Brewing Co. A DVD player will be awarded to one lucky individual
who attends this screening. If you go, you might almost win. Free
food and drinks will also be there. “Pornstar: The Legend of
Ron Jeremy” opens at the Nuart theater this Friday. This one
could be as big as Ron Jeremy’s … foot. “Behind Enemy
Lines” with Gene Hackman opens Friday in theaters
everywhere.
Music Diamonda Galas will perform tonight at
Royce Hall. Oh, so dark and gothic and greek. Pearl Jam’s
Stone Gossard will be at the Troubadour tonight with his side-band
Brad. Costeau is at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood tonight. If
the Knitting Factory were a high school senior, it would be that
guy in the leather jacket that is too hip for himself. Royal Crown
Revue will be at the Derby tonight. Remember when swing was cool?
Well, these guys are always cool. Calabasas heroes Incubus will
perform two sold-out shows at the Universal Amphitheater on
Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2. Epic Records doesn’t even
have anymore tickets to this one. Rival Schools, The Hives and The
(International) Noise Conspiracy are at the Roxy on Saturday, Dec.
1. Get them while they’re hot. The Eels are performing at the
Roxy on Sunday, Dec. 2. Method Man and Red Man are playing at the
House of Blues on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Man, what a concert, man. Hard
rockers Godhead, Gravity Kills and Pigface are performing at the
Key Club on Wednesday, Dec. 6. What do you get when you mix a
Godhead and a Pigface? “Gimme Shelter Benefit” will be
held at the Roxy on Wednesday, Dec. 6, featuring John Mayer,
Starsailor, Glenn Phillips and more. Tickets to KROQ’s annual
“Almost Acoustic Christmas” go on sale this Saturday
and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2 (check KROQ.com for details). The
two-night event will feature Alien Ant Farm, Bad Religion, Blink
182, Bush, Coldplay, Linkin Park, Staind, 311, Sum 41, System of a
Down and Travis, along with many more.
