Foster report held again

The UCLA athletic department announced that the report regarding
senior tailback DeShaun Foster’s possible “extra
benefits” violation was going to be sent out yesterday
morning, but the report never saw the mailbox.

According to UCLA sports information director Marc Dellins, the
NCAA sent a fax to the university Tuesday requesting more
information regarding the case.

“We have to put together the new information they
requested and add it to the report,” Dellins said.

The NCAA’s requests for information can come in as many
times as needed because UCLA will not be receiving an official
letter of inquiry from the NCAA.

Contrary to earlier reports from athletic director Peter Dails,
UCLA has not received an official letter of inquiry from the NCAA.
The NCAA will send a letter of inquiry only during NCAA infraction
cases. In this case, Foster’s “extra benefit” is
not defined as an infraction.

As for an estimate on when UCLA will submit the final report,
Dellins would not give a timetable as to when the judicial process
surrounding the Foster case will begin.
