Dilated Peoples “Expansion Team” Capitol
Records
Dilated Peoples is a real eye-opener for the rest of the hip-hop
world.
With its sophomore effort, “Expansion Team,” Dilated
Peoples returns with more of what the beat-loving crowd has come to
expect from the lyrically tight group.
The trio that makes up Dilated Peoples has clearly pushed the
boundaries of hip-hop capabilities.
Unlike the majority of the bling-bling rap albums that are
coming out right now, Dilated Peoples doesn’t feature a
mile-long list of guest appearances. Instead there are only two
guest spots on the entire album.
Track five, “Heavy Rotation” tastefully features The
Liks, and track 14, “Hardhitters,” features The
Roots’ main vocalist, Black Thought, doing an awesome cameo
performance.
For rap fans looking for the commercial gangsta anthems, look
elsewhere. This is real hip-hop.
