Fox Sports Net 2 to rebroadcast
USC-UCLA games
Fox Sports Net 2 will be rebroadcasting several classic football
and basketball games between crosstown rivals UCLA and USC through
the end of August.
All of the matchups take place during the 90’s and 2000.
Included among the televised games will be the 1996 football game
in which the Bruins overcame a 17 point deficit in the final
quarter to defeat the Trojans.
The games will be scattered throughout the cable network’s
schedule, with the final telecast airing Aug. 31.
USC to hold memorial for McKay
USC will be holding a public memorial service for their
legendary former football head coach John McKay who died of
complications of diabetes last month. The service will be held
Sept. 12 at USC’s Bovard Auditorium.
McKay coached the Trojans from 1960-75, leading them to a record
of 120-40-8 during his tenure, including three national
championships (1962, ’67, ’72.)
The service will be open to the public and will include a video
tribute and eulogies by former players and coaching peers.
Beavers selling out
For the first time in the history of their football program, the
Oregon State Beavers have sold all of their season tickets.
The Beavers who finished with a No. 4 ranking after compiling an
11-1 record doubled the number of season tickets sold in 1999, head
coach Dennis Errickson’s first year.
The Beavers have been selected as the favorites to win the
Pac-10 by several prognosticators. UCLA will travel to Corvallis on
September 29.
