Do you feel that USAC has been responsive to your needs
and concerns as a UCLA student? Katy
Tschann-Grimm First-year Geophysics So far I haven’t seen
anything that they have done, but I’m sure that they work hard on
orientation and activities during the first week of school. If they
do put on other events, they don’t publicize them very much.
Monique Wylie
Fourth-year
Psychology It’s still early in the year, but USAC hasn’t been
responsive and I haven’t seen as much programs and activities as in
other years. Hopefully the next quarters can be reflective of what
I expect out of USAC. This year I don’t really feel like I can see
the USAC president. She hasn’t really made it a point to be as open
as presidents in the past. Mike Chu Fifth-year
Electrical engineering I don’t think they do much that’s useful for
the campus especially since they talk about affirmative action over
and over. I think that they should speak on other student needs
such as parking and student housing. Scott VanHorn
Third-year Computer science I don’t even know what USAC does for me
nor do I agree with some of the things that they do. For example, I
don’t agree with the way Praxis organizes its students around
activism when there are other problems on campus that need to be
concentrated on. Marlene Garza Third-year
Political science I think that USAC has been representative of some
student needs, particularly with the Student Retention Center. But
in terms of the rest of the campus, I don’t think they have been
responsive. The activities they put on are not reflective of the
students and have not been effective. Evish
Kamrava Third-year Biochemistry The problem is that I
don’t know of any forums they have so that students can go address
them. They’re just in some random office in Kerckhoff. They really
should try to get the students’ opinions because I have no idea of
where they are or what they are doing. Speaks Out compiled by Jonah
