CRIME WATCH 1 Vehicle stolen $10,620 Grand
theft $3,307 Petty theft

Petty theft Three parking permits, nine
cellular phones and several bags were stolen this past period,
amounting to a total loss of $5,115. Someone stole a shopping cart
from the Santa Monica Emergency Room lobby Friday morning. Police
received a report Thursday of someone losing a $150 gun at an
unknown location. That same morning, someone stole a camera and
bottle of wine, worth a total of $400, from Covel Commons. Also on
Thursday, someone broke into a brown 1998 Jeep Cherokee and stole
CDs, a speaker box and a cellular phone. The amount of the loss was
$430. On Wednesday, someone broke into The Anderson School at UCLA
and stole a driver’s license, passport and an access
card.

Grand theft Someone stole a $4,000 laptop from
The Anderson School on Friday. Police received a report Thursday
night that someone stole a white Jeep Cherokee parked on Gayley
Avenue. That same night, someone removed a screen from an open
window on Gayley Avenue and stole a laptop, battery charger and
power cord. The total loss was $2,500. Wednesday afternoon, someone
stole a purse containing $1,500 from the Medical Plaza. Police
received a report Nov. 7 that someone stole a backpack from
Hollywood Fries and charged $620 to the victim’s credit
card.

Miscellaneous Police received a report early
Saturday that a 1989 Pontiac accidentally ran into a bush at Sunset
Boulevard and Royce Drive. There were no injuries. Police received
a report Friday of 5 people throwing eggs and bottles at a resident
on Gayley Avenue. A man robbed a 7-Eleven store at the corner of
Glendon Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard on Thursday. Someone
poured gallons of liquid and powder detergent on the floor and
washing machines in a washroom on Sepulveda Boulevard on Wednesday
morning. Wednesday night, police responded to a report of five or
more gun shots fired at Gateway and Exposition Boulevards. That
same day, police received a report of someone filing seven false
police reports from Sawtelle Boulevard.
