Proposition 32

PROPOSITION 32

Veteran’s Bond Act of 2000.

The Cal-Vet Farm and Home Loan Program has provided loans to
more than 400,000 wartime veterans since its establishment after
World War I. Proposition 32 would forward funds to provide more
veterans with loans to purchase homes and farms and to organize the
program more efficiently to compete with private agencies.

Comparable to a student financial aid loan, the program offers
veterans low-interest loans and should be paid back by the
borrowers, not the taxpayers.

Veterans who serve during peace or war offer their lives to
defend the rest of us. At a minimum, we should offer them help in
establishing their livelihoods.
