General Representative

If elected to the Undergraduate Students Association Council as
a general representative for the 2000-2001 academic year, I will
take the following steps to ensure that I meet the needs of the
student body of UCLA.

Overall, my goal as a general representative would be to ensure
that all student groups on campus are treated equally and that they
are fairly represented within USAC.

This equal representation would essentially mean equal funding
among all of the student groups. Currently, the funds allocated to
the different organizations on campus are extremely
disproportionate and slightly discriminatory. I guarantee that I
will take every step possible to work with the other elected and
appointed officers of USAC to abolish these unfair practices.

Secondly, I would like to work with the other officers of USAC
to expand library hours and create informative campaigns to
increase student body awareness regarding vital issues such as
affirmative action and others that affect the entire campus
community.

If elected to the office of general representative, I believe
that my fresh ideas and open mind, coupled with my prior experience
in student government and other student groups on campus, I will
truly be an asset to USAC, and more importantly, to the student
body as a whole.
