Dear Bruins: I am running for internal vice president because I
want USAC to move its focus from external (political) issues to
internal (campus) issues, such as parking, campus safety and
residential life issues.

First, our current parking supply is not adequately meeting the
needs of UCLA students. I will work with the administration to
explore ways in which we can alleviate this unwanted stress and
inconvenience. Second, I would like to see campus safety improved
by increasing the number of Community Service Officers and
improving lighting. Finally, I will focus on improving the quality
of residential life by fighting to keep meal coupons available to
residents as well as making meals transferable.

Another reason I decided to run is to make USAC more accountable
to students. First, I believe that all USAC "tax"and stipend
increases should be subject to voter approval. Second, I will work
to reduce USAC stipends to their pre-summer raise level and to
severely cut the current mandatory USAC "tax." Last, I support
making the Judicial Board and the Election Board’s decisions
independent of council approval. USAC should no longer be allowed
to vote on its own punishment!

In conclusion, UCLA students deserve a council that cares about
them and their concerns, not ideologies and political agendas. If I
am elected I will focus my energies on improving parking, campus
safety, the quality of residential life and keeping USAC
accountable to all UCLA students.
