Speaksout

SPEAKS: What does Valentine’s Day mean to you?

Sean Michael Johnson

First-year

Law

"Now that I don’t have a girlfriend it’s just one less day that
I have to remember."

Yen-Ting Liu

Third-year

Computer science and engineering

"If you have somebody special it’s a good day, but otherwise
sometimes it’s overplayed. I guess for the most part it’s a nice
day and I think people rag on it too much, and for those people who
do have someone special it’s a nice day to be able to cherish that.
Valentine’s should not be just one day; people should show their
love every day."

Sachin Mehta

Third-year

Applied math

For a lot of people Valentine’s Day reminds them of how lonely
they are. I think every day should be like a Valentine’s Day if you
have somebody.

Michael Regaldo

Second-year

Undeclared

"Suppos-edly it’s the day of love but it takes on whole
different meanings when you’re actually in love or when you’re out
there playing the "game;" especially if you’re single or with
someone it takes on a lot of different meanings."

Abbey Santamaria

Second-year

Undeclared

"It means obligation to buy your significant other
presents."
