Pump up the bass to get a date, therapy

Boom … Boom … Boom … Boom.
You can hear and feel it from a mile away. No, it’s not the
cannons from the 1812 Overture, it’s the sound of music being
played at an insanely high volume from a tiny car turning the
corner.
Why … do some drivers insist on turning their car radios up so
loud that the vehicle ends up bouncing down the road instead of
rolling on its tires? At such volume, the lyrics and tune get lost
in vibration and base.
Some even go as far as to purchase special speakers to exceed
the limits of a normal car stereo.
What makes the possibility of going deaf worth it? Why take the
risk of exploding those precious ear drums?
