Renowned jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell (l.) performs at the UCLA
Department of Music’s first jazz concert of the year last Friday
night at Schoenberg Hall. Burrell is the director of the newly
formed Jazz Studies Program.

Justin Rivera, 4, and his father Martin (r.) watch the UCLA Jazz
Ensembles. Martin Rivera is also a musician.

It was standing room only as spectators huddled together in the
lobby outside Schoenberg Hall auditorium to get glimpses of the
concert (bottom right).

Students entertain the audience with a night of jazz (bottom
left).
