Star Spangled manners …

Editor:

Before the Oregon State game at Pauley Pavilion, it was
announced that that the national anthem would be sung. It was not,
or at least in my opinion, nothing was sung that even remotely
resembled "The Star Spangled Banner."

"The Star Spangled Banner" is a patriotic anthem and should be
sung and played as such, not as soul music, not as pop music, not
as rock and roll, not in a way that shows disrespect, even if
unintended, to all those who have fought for our country and
beneath its flag, but with the respect and honor and dignity that
they and this great country deserve.
