It is 8:30 a.m. as students converge on the Campus Express stop
along Weyburn Avenue, coffee cups in one hand and books in the
other.
Every day some of those students are left at the stop as the
shuttle pulls away, filled to the brim with students standing
shoulder-to-shoulder.
Soon, students running the perimeter trail around the edge of
campus after dark may be taking a new route.
There have been concerns in the past about safety and lighting
along the trail, which is a popular running route for students.
Longtime record retailer Penny Lane shut its doors Monday for
the final time, going out of business after 18 years in
Westwood.
Penny Lane is the oldest independently owned music and video
chain in Los Angeles, according to the retailer’s Web
site.
