Joshua Kelley, a third-year sociology student, bought his sweatshorts and camouflage bomber jacket from H&M. Kelley said fewer classes and less rigorous football practice put him in a better mood toward the end of the week, which reflects in his stylish outfits. “Thursdays and Fridays are the days I tend to dress up a little bit saucy,” he said.
Christina Ching, a fourth-year economics student, shopped at Top Shop, Nordstrom and PacSun to complete her look: black jeans and a blue sweater under a black bomber jacket. She said she put together her outfit in a hurry to make it to her morning class and chose the bomber jacket to combat this week’s cold spell.
Second-year fine arts student Hong Ye said she wore many layers to shield herself from the freezing cold. She acquired her pink bomber jacket at a discount from Urban Outfitters, rounding out her appearance with a UCLA hoodie and a skirt from Japan. Ye said that her facemask is not a fashion statement; she wore it to combat sickness and allergies.
Marie Karmelyn Acfalle, a fourth-year anthropology student, sported a striped bomber jacket with goldfish art emblazoned on the back. Acfalle said she wore black American Eagle jeans and Uggs to avoid clashing with the bold graphic on her jacket.
Fourth-year history student Elvia Martinez wore a quilted red bomber jacket she received from a friend, along with simple denim jeans and high top sneakers. Martinez accessorized her outfit with a necklace she wears every day – a good luck charm from her daughter.
