PRIME: The A-train
A common college adage warns against living with one's best friends, but four Levering Heights residents defy conventional wisdom. Meet Alanah, Amanda, Allie and Anne. The four girls are seniors, members of the UCLA marching band, Kappa Kappa Psi sisters, close friends and roommates. Their alliterative names have earned the quartet as collective nickname: "The A-Train." UCLA RESEARCHERS LOOKING FOR healthy right-handed subjects, ages 18-50, to participate in study investigating brain's response to immune system changes. Eligible subjects will first come to the lab for 1 hour and then come to the second 8-hour session on a different day. Study involves the injection of placebo or endotoxin (which increases immune system activity in a safe manner), blood draws, and brain scan. Subjects who complete the study will be paid $220.
