Law and Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay has donated $100,000 for acting scholarships for students in UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, officials announced Tuesday.

The scholarships will be awarded based on need and merit to undergraduate and graduate students, said Teri Schwartz, dean of the UCLA Theater, Film and Television School.

Schwartz said Hargitay approached her about the gift.

The second Westwood LIVE will be catered toward an older clientele, and a push to draw out more students to the event will not be made until the fall, organizers said.
