Two UCLA alumni are trying to connect voters with local politics and news through a social media app.
Matt Pell and Kai Bryant, who both graduated from UCLA in 2015 with history degrees, are in the final stages of developing The Burg, an app meant to encourage civic participation, inform individuals about local politics and ensure elected officials are accurately representing their localities.
Some students who find college newspapers boring are paving the way for different forms of student media.
These new media differ from established types of student media in content, production or distribution.
Students will soon have more plant-based food options at a new bar in De Neve dining hall.
De Neve dining hall is opening a flexitarian bar in January to encourage healthy, sustainable eating, said UCLA Dining Services officials in a statement.
