The Quad: Where to shop for the cheapest Bearwear

Perhaps a friend who comes to visit you wants to bring some Bruin souvenirs home, or maybe your mom is so proud of her child that she wants to hang some UCLA shirts in the house, or possibly you just want to express your Bruin pride through a collection of oversize UCLA hoodies. Either way, you’d try and look for a place to buy the most cost-effective UCLA accessories. Over the past few weeks, I researched the prices of Bearwear – UCLA-themed clothing – in various stores, with results shown in the table above.

For short and long-sleeve shirts, the prices in Target, Ralphs and online shopping platforms are significantly lower than that offered in campus stores. On the other hand, prices of hoodies tend to vary within the same store, but in general, Target, Ralphs and the campus store in Westwood are good options for accessible and affordable hoodies. If you consider walking to stores in Westwood to be too much trouble, baseball caps and tank tops in the Ackerman campus store have relatively reasonable prices compared to other types of Bearwear.

In sum, the prices of Bearwear are lowest online, highest in the Ackerman campus store, and range somewhere in between for the Westwood campus store, Target and Ralphs.
