The Westwood Village Improvement Association, also known as the BID, is a nonprofit organization tasked with improving the state of Westwood Village. The BID was created by property and business owners in August 2011 to provide Westwood Village with functions the City of Los Angeles could not provide. Its board of directors meets monthly.

  • Andrew Thomas, executive director of the BID, said the BID’s renewal made it past the petition phase last month. He said he expects the renewal to go on a ballot in March.
  • Niki Svara began her job as operations manager for the BID Jan. 11.
  • City Attorney Michael Feuer attended the meeting to answer any questions board members or the public had.
  • The board appointed Denise Garcia of Clarion Partners to fill a Zone 1 seat.
  • The board elected board members Jim Brooks of Topa Management as vice-chair and Patrick Nally of Tishman and Speyer as treasurer. Jessica Dabney and Christian Irwin will continue in their positions as chair and secretary, respectively.
