UCLA football offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone has agreed to a three-year contract with Texas A&M, according to FOX Sports’ senior college football reporter Bruce Feldman. His son Taylor Mazzone, UCLA’s quarterbacks coach, will join the Aggies, too, according to one of Feldman’s sources.

The elder Mazzone will head to College Station, Texas, where he will take on the same offense coordinator coaching position according to Football Scoop.

Mazzone joined the Bruins’ staff in January 2012, having spent two seasons as the offensive coordinator at Arizona State. Mazzone was also a coach in the NFL, working as the wide receivers coach and personnel consultant for the New York Jets from 2006 to 2009.

Before his NFL career, Mazzone was the offensive coordinator at Ole Miss, Auburn and North Carolina State. During his UCLA tenure, Mazzone worked with quarterbacks Brett Hundley and Josh Rosen, who led top-25 passing offenses.

A tweet from Texas A&M commit Tate Martell first suggested that the younger Mazzone, the Bruin quarterbacks coach, was also bound for the Lone Star State. The tweet has since been deleted.

UCLA football won’t have to wait long to be reunited with the Mazzones – the Bruins’ schedule opens at Texas A&M in September.
