The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government representing the undergraduate student body at UCLA. Agenda

• The undergraduate student council unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday calling for Gov. Jerry Brown to allocate $100 million to the University of California before Brown’s budget revision on Thursday. Councilmembers think this allocation would make tuition more affordable. The resolution originally stated councilmembers would coordinate with UC President Janet Napolitano and UC Regents to ensure that the University receives adequate funding. However, LET’S ACT! councilmembers were concerned with Napolitano’s ability to work with students. The resolution was revised to say councilmembers should coordinate with Napolitano and the UC Regents when possible and appropriate. The council should hold them accountable and ensure they are transparent in their decision making processes.
• Council voted 12-0-1 to approve an allocation of $9,260 from the Contingency Programming fund.
• Council voted 12-0-1 to approve an allocation of $600 from the Capital Contingency fund.

• Cultural Affairs Commissioner Amy Shao allocated $42,766.90 to 26 student groups on Sunday under the Arts Restoring Community Referendum.

  Officer Reports

• President Heather Rosen said she attended a meeting with Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Janina Montero and Community Service Commissioner Zack Dameron to discuss the logistics behind awarding the John H. Sarvey & Robert S. Michaels Leadership in Service Award.
• Internal Vice President Heather Hourdequin said she plans to meet with Los Angeles City Attorney Veronica de la Cruz Robles on Monday to discuss increasing street lighting in the North Village, the student apartment area roughly between Gayley, Veteran and Le Conte avenues.
• Academic Affairs Commissioner Trent Kajikawa is meeting with a UCLA official in the future to discuss ways to facilitate diversity in the classroom.
