Three TFT alum nominated for 66th Primetime Emmy Awards

Three UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television alumni earned nominations for the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, as announced by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on July 10.
Mitchell Cannold (’71) is nominated for outstanding documentary or nonfiction series for his work as executive producer of Fox’s “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.” This is Cannold’s first Emmy nomination.
Louis J. Horvitz (’68) is nominated for outstanding directing for a variety special for his work in directing the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors on CBS. This is Horvitz’s 18th Emmy nomination – he has been nominated 10 times for directing the Oscars broadcast. He has previously won seven Emmys for directing variety programs, including wins for directing the Kennedy Center Honors in 1996 and 2013.
Andrew Orloff (’93) is nominated for outstanding special and visual effects for his work as digital effects supervisor on CW’s “The 100” episode “We Are Grounders: Part 2.” He has previously been nominated for eight Emmys without a win for his visual effects work on shows such as “Falling Skies,” “Once Upon a Time” and “Fringe.”
The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards will be presented on Aug. 25. Hosted by Seth Myers, the event will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.
