After 5-2 lead in the first half, UCLA women’s water polo fell 9-5 to the Stanford Cardinal in the NCAA championship, held at USC Sunday.

The victory crowns Stanford with its fourth national title and leaves UCLA barren since its 2005-2009, five-title win streak under then-coach Adam Krikorian. Coach Brandon Brooks has yet to win a national title for UCLA.

The No. 2 Bruins thus end their season with a 27-5 record. In comparison, the No. 1 Cardinal end their season 25-1, their only loss a defeat at the hands of UCLA during the UCI Invitational in February.
