UCLA swim team to compete in Texas Invitational

Dec. 4, 2013 11:56 p.m.

The UCLA swim team will have a chance to redeem its only loss of the season, as well as scope out future regular season challengers this weekend.

Seventeen UCLA swimmers will head to this weekend’s Texas Invitational, a swim-only event hosted by the University of Texas at Austin.

The Bruins will face off against nine other teams. Competitors include No. 6 Arizona, whom UCLA fell to on Nov. 8, top-ranked USC, who is slated to take on UCLA Feb. 17, and the event’s host, No. 9 Texas.

Last season, swim faced these opponents at the AT&T; Winter National Championships, placing fourth behind all three.

The invitational is scheduled to take place today through Saturday and is the swim team’s last meet of the year.
