Kennedy Polamalu is expected to be named UCLA’s running backs coach, Scout.com reported Wednesday. He fills a position on the UCLA coaching staff that became vacant Monday when former coach Steve Broussard was fired.

Polamalu has 20-plus years of coaching experience at the collegiate and professional levels, including stints as the Jacksonville Jaguars’ running backs coach from 2005 to 2009 and USC’s offensive coordinator under coach Lane Kiffin from 2010 to 2012.

Running backs that have worked under his tutelage include former UCLA running back Maurice Jones Drew as well as Reggie Bush and LenDale White.

He played collegiate football from 1982 to 1985 at USC, where he was a fullback.
