In 2006, when Professor David Delgado Shorter visited the Yoeme Indians of Sonora, Mexico, he attended a mourning ceremony known as Lutu Pahko. Tonight, he discusses how his film, “Lutu Chuktiwa: Cutting the Cord,” which will be presented at Kaufman Hall Thursday, explores the lifestyles of indigenous peoples. Afterward, second-year Afro-American studies student Maurice Wheatley, also known as Ace Mack, and second-year electrical engineering student Sam Goldberg drop us a beat and show us a thing or two about free-style rapping. Lastly, Professor Danny Oppenheimer dissects the economic and political causes for the government shutdown and mentions probably methods to come closer to an agreement between the opposing parties.
