The Bruin Bash lineup has not been revealed yet, but the Cultural Affairs Commission and Campus Events Commission announced Monday that a competition will be held to select a UCLA student DJ to open this year’s Bruin Bash dance.

Any interested student DJs or producers should email [email protected] and include their name and university ID, DJ name, a two to three sentence self-introduction blurb, a photo or image of that represents them as a DJ and an original 35 to 55 minute-long mix via Soundcloud or YouTube links. According to the official rules, submissions will be judged based on “originality, tunes and genre selection” and the deadline for submissions is Aug. 23. The winner will be announced on Sept. 6 and will play for the first 45 minutes of the dance immediately following Bruin Bash 2013, which will return to Pauley Pavilion on Sept. 22.
