UCLA men’s basketball tied with Missouri at halftime

In a first half filled with big runs, they largely cancelled each other out as UCLA and Missouri are tied 47-47 at Pauley Pavilion.

UCLA went on a 15-0 run to claim a 12-point lead midway through the first half but then allowed Missouri to go on a 20-6 run to retake the lead.

The Bruins were led by freshman guard Shabazz Muhammad who had 11 points. Redshirt junior forwards David and Travis Wear each had 10.

Redshirt senior guard Keion Bell – who scored nine straight points during one stretch in the first half – led the No. 7 Tigers in scoring with 13 in the half.

UCLA did not make any of its seven attempted 3-pointers in the first half while Missouri connected on 5-of-12 deep balls.

Missouri’s size continues to hurt UCLA with respect to rebounding. The Bruins were outrebounded 27-19 in the first half. The Tigers scored following an offensive rebound right at the buzzer to tie the game heading into halftime.
