Stanford beats UCLA 27-24, clinches Pac-12 title

By Daily Bruin Staff

Nov. 30, 2012 8:57 p.m.

It was a familiar sight””mdash;for the second time in two weeks Stanford dominated UCLA, but this time the stakes were a little different.

With the 27-24 win, Stanford took the Pac-12 title and a berth to the Rose Bowl. While the game was close, the Cardinal came out on top despite a strong performance from the Bruins.

UCLA had a literal last-minute chance to take the game as freshman kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn tried for a 51-yard field goal, but it veered left, allowing Stanford to take the win.
